Friday (not pictured as it was terribly unphotogenic) consisted of a House of Cards marathon and this staple recipe.
Saturday was spent talking myself out of a C. Jere brass wall hanging and Franco Albini rattan ottoman. This amazing display of self-restraint was followed by a visit to the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio in Oak Park.
Sunday was all pajamas and grocery shopping until we headed down to Bridgeport to try the very impressive selections at Maria's Packaged Goods and carry out pies from Pleasant House Bakery next door. I tried the chicken balti, steak and ale, and mushroom and kale pies and would rank them in that order. They were nearly ruined, however, by the band playing at Maria's, which made me feel like I was either on an episode of Portlandia or being Punked by Ashton Kutcher. Yikes.
Is the thing in the upper right picture a table? It looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh it was :( it is rounded so I don't know that it would really work as a table. Plus it was missing a couple of pieces, so although you could definitely prop up your feet, I wouldn't be so sure you could sit on it either.
