It's moving week!
Now that we are the official owners, I feel okay posting some pictures of the often-mentioned-but-never-really-seen condo.
(Note: these pictures are taken from a couple of identical units in the building, ours will be laid out like the picture on the right)
One of the things I love about our new condo is the layout. The classic Chicago apartment is long and narrow, with the living room in front, the kitchen way in the back, and the bedrooms in between. Ours is more square in shape, and the layout allows you to walk in a full circle around the apartment. The flow, you guys. It is amazing. I also love the spacious room sizes, the huge southwest facing windows, and the location near the train, parks, restaurants, and basically everything I enjoy about Logan Square.
The things I do not love: the standard 2004-2009 era cherry cabinet/granite/stainless kitchen, and the stone baths. They are just not to my taste. But they are quite nice and I am not exactly going to be crying when those heated stone floors are keeping my tootsies warm all winter long (yes, heated floors! How a person who cannot even wear matching socks wound up with that kind of luxury, I do not know).
I cannot wait to get in there and make it ours. In the meantime, I will be busy packing like a maniac, working 10 hour days in preparation for our summer vacation, and sleeping like a kid on Christmas Eve (i.e. not at all).
